Dunoon Chess Tournament is a tournament series inspired by the three phases of a chess game: The Opening (held at the beginning of the year), The Middlegame (held in the middle of the year), and The Endgame (held at the end of the year).
The Dunoon Chess Tournament is creating a new atmosphere in Dunoon, a community filled with talent and potential, yet limited by a lack of support, exposure, and competitive opportunities. The tournament provides local players with the chance to participate in Chess SA-rated events without the financial burden of expensive entry fees and transport costs.
- For more than 40 chess players in Dunoon, this series represents more than just a tournament. It is a platform for growth, recognition, and development, giving aspiring players the opportunity to earn official ratings, gain valuable tournament experience, and compete at a higher level while inspiring the next generation of chess talent in the community.
